Welcome From Pastor Jeff!

"I want to take a moment and thank you for showing an interest in what is going on at Meadow.  After walking in the front doors of our former location in Duluth in 1994, I discovered for the first time in my life what it meant to "go to church" as a Christian.  God had saved me two weeks before and I had decided it was now time to get back in church.  Little did I know that many years later God would allow me the privilege of becoming the pastor of such a loving and warm group of people.  Meadow is a family of believers who love Jesus Christ, the Word of God, and one another.  We are not all the same in every way, but we have found great joy in our oneness in Him.  Far from the cold, stale reputation of many churches today, Meadow is a vibrant church which is committed to speaking the truth in love as we live out our lives for the glory of the One who owns us.  We are committed to truth as we believe it is the core element which allows for lives to be changed and Christ to be magnified.  In churches today, trends may deceive us, traditions may enslave us, but truth will transform us.  Please consider this invitation from Amy and me to come and be with us this week at one of our regularly scheduled services.  God is doing some incredible things here and the only thing which might be missing is you!" - Pastor Jeff

First Time Guests

Q. I'm a curious seeker but not overly interested in organized religion. Why should I come to Meadow?
A. If you are curious about Jesus Christ, God, the afterlife, or Christianity in general then you will most definitely wish to visit Meadow.  The reason why is because, when you come, you will hear the truth about the aforementioned issues and a host of others.  Meadow is committed to being a biblical church which will never seek to lure you by pretending we are something other than what we are.  We have chosen to be faithful to God as He works through us, drawing people to Jesus Christ through love and truth.  While some trends in modern churches seek to alter the biblical message of Jesus Christ in order to attract larger crowds, we have chosen to leave the results with God as we exalt Christ, teach the Scriputres and serve one another.  We will not force you to conform to a man-made mode of living.  We will lovingly tell you the truth about God and man and then respect your right to choose what to do with what you hear.  We are here to help, not to control.  At Meadow, we believe that you will encounter the opportunity to have life's most essential quesitons answered.  We hope you will come and take advantage of that.

Q. How long do your services last?
A. In most cases our services conclude after 90 minutes.

Q. What are your services like?
A. Meadow's services really only have two goals:  The first objective is to introduce people to Jesus Christ for the purpose of receiving Him as Lord of their lives.  The second goal is to allow for an opportunity of corporate worship through music, biblical instruciton, and fellowship.  The music consists of both hymns and modern songs.  Our choir ministers each Sunday morning and is accompanied by various other soloists and groups in all other serivces.  Pastor Jeff preaches expositionally, employing applicaiton and passion as he exhorts believers to mature in the faith while calling unbelievers to a commitment in Christ.  Meadow is friendly but not frivilous, joyful but not juvenile, serious but not stagnant.  We believe Meadow to be a living church which properly fulfills the New Testament expectations.

Q. Is there a difference between the style of your weekly services?
A. The Sunday 8 AM service is a small gathering of people.  The choir does not minister in this service and, due to time constraints, there is not as much music as the 10:30 service.  Though not by intentional design, this service has become more reserved and quiet when compared to the other services.  Pastor Jeff preaches the same message at 8 AM as he does at 10:30.

The Sunday 10:30 AM
service is attended by many more people.  The music typically includes the choir, the praise team, and solo specials.  This service usually involves a more vocal response from those who attend and would probably be considered by most to be more lively than the 8 AM service.  In order to get a proper grasp of the "personality" of Meadow, you would want to attend the 10:30 AM service.

The Sunday 6 PM service is more relaxed, yet employing the same components as the morning services.  We are committed to holding an evening service as other churches no longer do so.  This service serves as the opportunity for most of Meadow's baptisms and our quarterly Communion service.  Again, music and preaching are the prominent features in our evening services.

Wednesday Evenings:
This is our busy night with ministries occuring all over the campus.  We hold a Bible Study for adults in the sanctuary which is most often led by Pastor Jeff.  Our children's program (AWANA) ministers to children from 4 years old through 5th grade.  This is an exciting time for children as faith and fun are blended to help establish their Christian roots.  Xamplelife is our Wednesday program for 6th - 12th graders.  Utilizing student involved music, an adult-led devotion, the teens then break off into small groups with two adults leading each group in discussion.

Q. Is Meadow a Southern Baptist church?
A. Meadow is a completely independent church, unaffiliated with any mainstream denominational movement.  We are a self-governed, congregational assembly.  Meaodw does not receive funding from outside sources but seeks to cooperate with any groups which hold to a biblical position in matters of faith and practice.  Meadow is a Baptist assembly but passionately committed to the Person of Christ above any denominaitonal traditions or expectations.

Q. Does it matter what I wear?
A. As long as you are clothed then please come!  Many people wear tradtional Sunday-type clothing while others come in very casual attire.  Meadow holds to a position of biblical modesty but refrains from adopting dress codes which have an unbiblical foundation.  We are here to help people with their faith, not their fashion.

Q. Do you have childcare during your services?
A. Yes.  There are nurseries and child care provided for members and guests:  from birth through 5th grade in our morning services; from birth through 3rd grade on Sunday evenings; from birth through 3 years old on Wednesdays.

Q. Are there groups for unmarried people?
A. Yes.  We currently have two groups which meet for bible study and fellowship on Sunday mornings at 9:15 AM.  These groups also get together for activities outside of the church service schedule for the purpose of developing relationships and recreational leisure.  These two groups allow oppotunities for those who have never been married, those who are in college or early career ages, those who have been divorced, and those who have been widowed.  Come and visit with us - we would love to meet you!
