Meadow’s “Salt Shakers” Senior’s Ministry offers opportunities to anyone fifty-five years of age or older who are working, retired, able, disabled, married or single, to be strengthened and encouraged every day in our walk with God.
At Meadow we believe that our senior’s are not “over the hill”, but rather “on top of the mountain”. We realize that these are the years of not only enjoyable activities together, but also serving the Lord through the many ministries Meadow has to offer. Our seniors are involved with …….
Fun and Fellowship: There is nothing like joining together for times of fun, food, and relaxation. At Meadow, we provide many opportunities for everyone to become involved. Every month we have either a luncheon at our church with a guest speaker, or meeting at a local restaurant. We take one-day trips each month to various locations within Georgia such as... a North Georgia train ride, the Aquarium, Callaway Gardens, and others. Each year we offer a two or three day trip to places like Savannah, Pigeon Forge, and others. To put in plain language, “we have a ball”.
Service: Our seniors are not just takers of the good things of life, but also serve the Lord in many different areas. Some visit the ill, shut-ins and nursing homes. Some work in various children’s programs as teachers, helpers, or drive a van to pick-up children. Some plan meals and help decorate for various luncheons, dinners, and special meetings. Others help usher and take the offering. If you have a special gift that the Lord has given you, come and use it along with others at Meadow.
Spiritual growth: The Lord did not intend for us to stop learning and growing in Him. Just because we are older and have been serving the Lord for many years, does not mean we can sit by the wayside and let time pass. At Meadow our seniors have the opportunity to attend one of many available Sunday school classes, bible study meetings and prayer meetings. Some of our senior’s help disciple other new believers and thereby learn themselves.
